Spending the weekend in the great outdoors. Okay, so we have power, and running water, and lights, and music, and two campers that are bigger than my house, but there’s a campfire, and lots of bugs, so it counts. Last night we had the greatest turkey ever to be cooked inside a garbage can, and tonight we topped it off with several feet of tenderloin. We’re all getting fattened up for the mosquito feast, so I guess it’s a Happy Thanksgiving for all. We couldn’t fit any of my guitars in the car with all of the “roughing it”, but I’m managing to survive the complete absence of civilization through the few video game provisions I brought. Got eaten by a dragon in Skyrim. I was apparently not so tasty because he spit me back out. Got several levels not Final Fantasy III on my iPad, as well as a few levels into nostalgic goodness in Alundra, Legend of Mana, and Crono Crusader on my PSP. Life in the woods is tough, I’m glad we get to return to civilization in a few days, but we’re scraping by out here.
Today, my new Fender Strat should be coming in. That alone is pretty big news, but this is a special version that has the Roland hookup. The legendary Roland GR-1 will be coming in tomorrow. Together, I will have this instrument that is part guitar, part synth, part orchestra, part Devo, and part Oingo Boingo. I cannot wait to hear what this system is capable of producing. I know I haven’t exactly gone as far as I can with my analog guitar system yet, but this will help me push some boundaries that I didn’t really know existed before. I think it’s a win-win scenario. Will I sell out and forget my rocking’ roots in exchange for cheap gimmicks and fake samplings? I can only dream. Bring on the drool!!!!!

Ok, so maybe we aren’t REALLY ready to go yet. Still need to make everything look all prettified, set up some theme-age, institute some colors, and maybe bang out a template for this soon to be web-comic site that may or may not actually exist. After 2 weeks of grueling labor, I think I’m finally happy with the overall setup even if I didn’t program it myself.
To Do :
- Widen the layout a bit. Seriously, are we trying to pander to people who are still using 640×480 as their standard?
- Graphics, show all the images!
- Load up a template for the comic layout
- Start up a short stories area
It looks like we have a working forum after many, many buggy attempts. I want to thank all of the spam-bots for their enthusiasm, but request that everyone exercise patience as the site will be online as soon as possible.
